About
Director and camera operator. Specialising in documentary films for brands, charities and artists. Based in London, UK.
I'm a filmmaker and director focused on documentary storytelling, across commercial work and personal projects.
I learnt to make films while living in China, shooting The Search for Chinese Hip Hop, a guerrilla series made with minimal kit. It taught me visual storytelling, and how to put people at ease so they can tell their own stories in their own way. That is still at the heart of everything I make.
Curating Grief: Loss and Objects was a turning point. Made in Lisbon with grief coach Charlene Lam, it is my most personal film: an open conversation about loss and the objects left behind. It went on to collect seven festival accolades and has been screened at grief events in the US.
Alongside directing, I work as a videographer, camera operator and 1st AC / focus puller, and I run Selfshoot Rentals, a camera kit hire house in Hackney.
